              EPISTLE - Acts 8: 14-17
In those days, when the apostles that were in Jerusalem had heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John; who, when they were come, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: for He was not as yet come upon any of them; but they were only baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid their hands upon them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

         FIRST ALLELUIA - John 14: 26
Alleluia, alleluia. The Holy Ghost shall teach you whatsoever I shall have said to you.

                 SECOND ALLELUIA
                         (All kneel)

Alleluia. Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful: and kindle in them the fire of Thy love.

SEQUENCE
                Veni Sancte Spiritus
Come Thou Holy Spirit, come, and from Thy celestial home shed a ray of light divine.
Come, Thou Father of the poor, come, Thou source of all our store, come, within our bosoms shrine, Thou of Comforters the best, Thou the soul’s delightful guest, sweet refreshment here below.

In our labour rest most sweet, pleasant coolness in the heat, Solace in the midst of woe.  O most blessed Light divine, shine within these hearts of   Thine, and our inmost being fill. Where Thou art not, man hath nought, nothing good in deed or thought, nothing free from taint of ill.

Heal our wounds, our strength renew, on
our dryness pour Thy dew, wash the stains of guilt away. Bend the stubborn heart and will, melt the frozen, warm the chill, guide the steps that go astray.

On Thy faithful who adore, and confess Thee evermore, in Thy sevenfold gifts descend. Give them virtue's sure reward, give them Thy salvation, Lord, give them joys that neverend. Amen. Alleluia.

            GOSPEL - John 10: 1-10
At that time, Jesus said to the Pharisees: Amen, amen, I say to you, he that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up another way, the same is a thief and a robber. But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the porter openeth, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. And when he hath let out his own sheep, he goeth before them; and the sheep follow him, because they know his voice; but a stranger they follow not, but fly from him, because they know not the voice of strangers. This proverb Jesus spoke to them: but they understood not what He spoke to them. Jesus therefore said to them again: Amen, amen, I say to you, I am the Door of the sheep. All others, as many as have come, are thieves and robbers; and the sheep hear them not. I am the Door. By Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved; and he shall go in, and go out, and shall find pastures. The thief cometh not but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I am come that they may have life, and may have it more abundantly.

       OFFERTORY - Psalm 77: 23-25
The Lord opened the doors of Heaven, and rained down manna upon them to eat: He gave them the bread of Heaven, man did eat the bread of angels, alleluia.
                        SECRET
May the offering of the gift here before Thee, we beseech Thee, O Lord, purify us and render us worthy of its sacred participation. Through Jesus Christ, Thy Son, Our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth.

          PREFACE OF PENTECOST
It is truly meet and just, right and availing unto salvation, that we should at all times and in all places give thanks unto Thee, O holy Lord, Father almighty and everlasting God; through Christ our Lord. Who ascending above all the heavens, and sitting at Thy right hand, on this day sent forth the Holy Ghost, as He had promised, on the children of adoption. Wherefore does the whole world rejoice with exceeding great joy; the hosts above and also the angelic powers join in singing the hymn to Thy glory, saying without ceasing:

               COMMUNICANTES
In communion with, and keeping the most holy day of Pentecost, whereon the Holy Ghost appeared to the Apostles in countless tongues; venerating also in the first place the memory of the glorious ever Virgin Mary, Mother of Jesus Christ, our Lord and God.

                    HANC IGITUR
This oblation, therefore, of our bounden duty and that of Thy whole family we beseech Thee, O Lord, graciously to accept, which we make unto Thee on behalf of these whom Thou hast vouchsafed to bring to a new birth by water and the Holy Ghost, giving them remission of all their sins.

     COMMUNION-John 15, 26; 16, 14
The Spirit Who proceedeth from the Father, alleluia. He shall glorify Me, alleluia, alleluia.

             POSTCOMMUNION
May the Holy Spirit, we beseech Thee, O Lord, renew our minds with the divine sacrament, for He is the remission of all sins. Through Jesus Christ, Thy Son, Our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth.
